What to Expect From Our New Brand

Updated: Aug 23, 2022

New name, new team: Greater breadth, deeper insights

Welcome to our new website. We are Covalence Healthcare Consulting or simply Covalence Health. We recently rebranded our firm from Little City Healthcare Consulting to Covalence Health. I had originally named the firm after the city of Falls Church, VA, which I have called home for the past seven years. Over the years I have realized that the name Little City is not recognized outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and it does not properly reflect what our firm has evolved into. So I decided to rename the firm.

So why Covalence Health and what is covalence? The term covalence (pronounced kō-ˈvā-lən(t)s) refers to the bond created by two or more atoms that share electrons on their outer (covalent) shell. Covalence is what allows an atom - the smallest building blocks of matter - to bond with other atoms and create something new. The term resonates with me in two ways. First, it describes how our firm has brought together a group of individuals with diverse yet complementary skills and experiences to create greater value for our clients. Second, it's an accurate reflection of how we support our clients in taking their existing assets and capabilities to create something new.

Aside from the new name and new website, there are a few more new things that I am excited to share. We have added new team members and new partners to extend beyond our core offerings. We have gained new experience and insights that allow us to help our clients in more ways than before. For example, we now partner with a full stack software development firm, which means we no longer just implement the design and development process, but can actually build functional prototypes or a complete software product to support our clients. Another example is having a clinical team so we can better understand our clients' challenges from a clinical point-of-view and ensure our proposed solutions are compliant with clinical guidelines and not overly-disruptive for our clients' clinical teams.

Finally, I'm excited that we have expanded into healthcare policy, and although interpretation and implementation of policy has always been a strength of our firm, we now have greater capacity to stay ahead of upcoming legislature and help our clients be more proactive and better prepared.

We can't wait to see what the next five years will bring and we'd love to have you be part of our story.

My warmest regards,

Founder and Principal Consultant
